Olympia Weekend, the most prestigious event in the world of bodybuilding, returns to the Orleans Arena, September 16-17th. Mr. Olympia is an annual bodybuilding competition sanctioned by the International Federation of Body Builders Professional League (IFBB Pro League) and winning this event is considered the highest accolade in the professional bodybuilding field. Last year Olympia Weekend added a new event...the Bikini Olympia. Sonia Gonzales took home the title of Miss Bikini Olympia, will she be able to defend her title this year? At Butterflies and Bikinis we are huge advocates of living a healthy lifestyle and follow the fitness industry closely. The thing I love most about the bikini division is that it brings poise and grace to the world of fitness, you can be a complete bad ass and still be feminine!
The bikini division, in just its second year, continues to evolve. There are a number of new faces and stunning physiques on stage this year. Nicole Nagrani has had quite a year and with an Arnold Classic win under her belt at just 19 years old it looks like she's going to be the toughest competitor to beat. Jaime Baird has also had an impressive year with a handful of wins and is looking like she will continue to shine heading into this weekend's competition. Some of the other competiors are Dianna Dahlgren, brazilian bombshell Nathalia Melo, Jennifer Andrews, Jaime Baird, Abbie Burrows, Justine Munro, Shelsea Montes, Alison Rosen and when on her game brings a look that is tough to beat. Can one of these ladies dethrone Sonia this weekend?
2010 Miss Bikini Olympia Sonia Gonzales
Personally, my predictions for the top 6 are:- Nicole Nagrini
- Jaime Baird
- Justine Munro
- Ali Rosen
- Sonia Gonzales
- Abbie Burrows
